Mission

Atlanta Mission transforms, through Christ, the lives of those facing homelessness.

Overview

Atlanta Mission is the city’s largest and longest-running provider of services to homeless men, women and children. Established in 1938, this Atlanta non-profit organization provides emergency shelter, temporary shelter, recovery programming, job attainment and transitional housing to more than 950 men, women and children daily. Atlanta Mission is a 501(c)3 organizational funded primarily by individuals donations.

Statistics (FY 2012)

  • More than 839,945 Meals Served (2,050 daily)
  • More than 318,000 nights of shelter provided for individuals
  • Ended Homelessness for 849 people
  • Helped more than 450 people obtain employment
  • 745 Souls found faith in Jesus Christ

Thrift Ministry

Our Christian non-profit organization collects donated goods to sell in our seven thrift store locations at a low cost to the community. All of the net-sale proceeds go directly into Atlanta Mission’s programs. Our thrift ministry division provides job training to clients in recovery at Atlanta Mission’s facilities and also offers vouchers for merchandise to needy families in the community.
